  2. Food Forest Volunteer Workday

    June 23, 10:00 AM - 12:30 PM @ Springhill Lake Recreation Center

    Volunteers are needed for a service-learning workday to help clear the Food Forest behind Springhill Lake Recreation Center of weeds and invasive plants. Help us make the Food Forest a safer place for everyone by pulling, cutting, mulching selected areas to deter invasive plants such as porcelain berry and mile a minute vines. This event will be held 10am-12:30pm. The Springhill Lake Recreation Center is located at 6101 Cherrywood Lane Greenbelt, MD 20770. Reminders: - Wear weather appropriate clothing and closed toed shoes. - Bring a reusable water bottle. - Students bring your service hour forms. Questions?     The Greenbelt Museum and Greenbelt Recreation present a program of lively scenes and songs from shows created by the WPA’s Federal Theatre during Greenbelt’s first years, with commentary by host Chris Cherry. Betty Smith’s one-act play, presented 80 years ago by the Greenbelt Players, will be performed.
