PARK RANGER I ($8.00/hr)
The City of Greenbelt Recreation Department will be accepting applications for the position of Park Ranger I. This is a part-time, seasonal position.
NATURE OF WORK: Patrols and inspects parks throughout the City, enforces rules and regulations to ensure compliance, and performs some conservation work as required. Assists with ensuring public safety through education and enforcement. Participates in program development and associated administrative work. Work is performed under the direction and supervision of the Director of Recreation or a designated representative.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING: High School diploma or GED; college attendance desirable; some experience in park management, park maintenance management, park administration, recreation, natural sciences, public relations or related subjects, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; ability to lead nature workshops and other outdoor activities. Incumbent must be at least 18 years of age and must possess valid driver’s license.
CRISIS INTERVENTION COUNSELOR – Part-time (20 hrs per week) Salary $22.96/hr w/pro-rated benefits. Provide emergency and on-going counseling services involving domestic violence, rape, suicide, family conflict and juvenile crime. Monthly on call duties. Bilingual skills a plus. Requires Master’s Degree in Social Work, Family Therapy, or Professional Counseling (or license eligible LGSW, LGMFT, LGPC).
