Franny
K. Stein Mad Scientist: The Fran That Time Forgot
By: Jim Benton
Star Rating: (4/4)
Reviewer’s Name: Erin Weeks
Greenbelt Elementary
Franny K. Stein The Fran That Time forgot is a fantastic
story. Most of the story takes place at Franny’s school
and in Franny’s lab. The characters in the story are
Franny, her dog Igor, her mom, dad, and little brother. The
problem in the story is that everyone has found out her middle
name and now everyone is making fun of her. Franny solved
the problem by using one of her experiments to go back in
time to change her name. If you enjoy reading funny and scientific
books you should read Franny K. Stein The Fran That Time
Forgot for a great laugh.

Phoebe
the Spy
By Judith Berry Griffin
Star Rating: (3/4)
Reviewer’s Name: David Kaloga
Springhill Lake Elementary
I give this book three stars because it had
good characters and Phoebe gets to spy on the British. So,
she did the job. The setting takes place at the American Revolution.
She almost got caught. I read the book for one week, it is
so cool. The problem in the story was so cool, she said that
the British were going to attack, on the Bay at night. It was
a nice revolution. |

I gave this book a 4 star rating because this
book is the best cheat/strategy game magazine. Sometimes, this
magazine has cool strategy guides. In this magazine, it tells
you the video games coming out in the future. It also tells
you cool things in Japan and stuff about the psp my favorite.
I would recommend this to a friend and tell some cheats. |

This book is about twins named Emma and Stacey. Emma is a

against each other. I’d give this book 3 stars because
I enjoyed it and I thought it was interesting. I would recommend

The Great Gilly Hopkins
By Katherine Paterson
Star Rating: (4/4) Reviewer’s Name: Emily Scites
Greenbelt Elementary
The Great Gilly Hopkins by Katherine Pasterson is a good book.
Two words that describe the story are busy and definitely mature.
I fell that life for Gilly is very sad, crazy and very hectic,
because she is a foster child, hasn’t talked to her parents
for about two or more years. This book is filled with real
life action, for example, Gilly is a foster child, she hasn’t
heard much from her dad and the only way her and her mom communicate
is by sending each other postcards.

Reviewer’s Name: Aliyah Nickens
Greenbelt Elementary
Lunch Money by Andrew Clements is a wonderful story. This book
is about Greg and his enemy Maura not getting along very well.
They fight and argue all the time. Then they finally come together
and decide that they want to sell mini comics. Throughout this
story it tells about their struggle to get along and sell comics
to their classmates and friends. . So if you like money, comics
and happy endings, you will love this book. |

How I Survived Being a Girl
By
Wendelin Von Draanen
Star Rating: (4/4) Reviewer’s Name: Cearah Camp-Green
Greenbelt MIddle
Carolyn is a girl who wishes she was a boy. This is only because
all she has is brothers. Also, she gets treated differently
because she is a girl. It’s summer and Carolyn stole
a book after riding her bike downhill to a convenience store.
Adrenalin rushed through her, legs burning, now obviously going
uphill. “I don’t know what this feeling is, I just
like when Charlie’s around” says Carolyn. This
makes me suspect she has a crush on Charlie! One day, Charlie
comes up to her tree house and talks about Helen Lison. AT
SCHOOL: The second week, Charlie and Helen are going steady. “Steady” means
girlfriend-boyfriend. Later, they broke up. When Carolyn found
out, she was so happy. When Charlie confronted Carolyn later
that day, she thought Charlie wanted to go steady with her.
But, he didn’t. Read this book to find out more! I would
rate this book a 4, because it was making me want more. |
