COMMUNITY PROMOTION

Community promotion communicates to the Citizens information about community activities, events, and issues of interest. The prime communication tools used are the City's cable channel, Muncipal Access 71, press releases, newsletters, and this website at www.greenbeltmd.gov

The City of Greenbelt operates its own information cable television channel on Channe 71.  It is accessible to Greenbelt residents subscribing to Comcast Cable.   Greenbelt Municipal Access runs a 24-hour bulletin board announcing numerous activities.  City Council meetings are shown live on Channel B-71.  On Tuesday and Thursday nights, other municipal programming, such as city events and informational programming are shown.  Schedules are printed in the Greenbelt News Review.

For information on posting an announcement for an upcoming event in Greenbelt, call 301-474-8000.

Copies of programming shown on Channel 71 can be obtained at a minimal cost.  Currently available are Labor Day events from the past 5 years, Greenbelt's 60th Anniversary Programming, Creative Kids Camp performances, Eleanor Roosevelt Grad Night, City Stages, Council meetings and more.   For information on how to obtain videotapes of these programs call 301-474-8000.

Greenbelt Municipal Access is produced by City Staff and concentrates on city sponsored events.
