The Finance Department is responsible for the collection of taxes and other city funds, payment of all city obligations, management and investment of city funds, accounting of all financial transactions, preparation of payroll, purchasing of goods and services, recruitment and screening of employment applicants, data processing and management of city insurance coverage.  An independent firm selected by the City Council audits city financial records annually.

The Department of Finance operates a client service window during the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.  Citizens may pay for the following City services at this window:

• Waste Collection bills are sent quarterly and can be paid by cash or check at the Finance window
• Lawn Waste Bags may be purchased
• Personal Propety Tax Bills
• Parking Stickers for Parking at Buddy Attick Park
• 60th Anniversary Greenbelt history books ($36 for Friends of the Greenbelt Museum members and $40 for non-members),  50th Anniversary Greenbelt history book supplements ($10 for members and $9 for non-members),  and 60th Anniversary Greenbelt posters can all be purchased at the Finance Window
