City Clerk

Greenbelt, a progressive and diverse community of 21,000, seeks applicants to fill the position of City Clerk.  This position prepares and keeps the official records of the city, conducts elections, provides professional administrative support to the City Council and City Manager, and is a member of the senior staff.  The City Clerk attends the regular City Council meetings and most work sessions; prepares the agenda for Council meetings and takes minutes of these meetings; administers the appointments process for Council’s advisory groups including recruitment, scheduling interviews and acts as intermediary; and acts as liaison to Board of Elections and Employee Relations Board.  Strong organizational, computer, interpersonal, written and verbal skills required.  Bach. degree or equiv. training or experience required.  Certified Municipal Clerk desirable.  Excellent benefits including State Pension plan.  Salary range $50,000 to $70,000 DOQ.  Submit resume and required application to Human Resources Office, 25 Crescent Road, Greenbelt, MD. 20770.  Application available below.  EOE

Project Manager/Construction Inspector

 This position requires a detailed knowledge of construction inspections, sediment control regulations and construction standards; including coordinating capital projects, ensuring that specifications are being followed and work is proceeding on schedule and within budget. The incumbent is responsible for providing technical assistance to the Director, other departmental personnel, the City Council, other departments and committees. The work is performed under the general direction of the Director, Department of Planning and Community Development.  

Required experience, training and licenses: Bachelors degree in construction management, architecture, engineering or construction science; or a related degree and two years experience assisting or supervising construction projects of increasing complexity; or an AA degree with emphasis in engineering, architecture, public administration, planning, housing; or a related degree and five years experience assisting or supervising construction projects of increasing complexity; or an equivalent combination of education and experience; or two years experience as a senior inspector for building, housing, or civil construction inspection; possession of BOCA/ICC Certification as Building Inspector, Building Code Official, or other related certification. Valid Maryland automobile driver’s license. Possession of or ability to obtain Maryland state certification for sediment control inspection authority.

$49,836-64,875 DOQ, plus excellent benefits. Position open until filled.

Service Coordinator   

This position is responsible for the basic case management and day to day coordination of supportive service activities performed on behalf of the residents of Green Ridge House and those clients on the wait list with emphasis being placed on those who are frail and at-risk.  Support services will include, but are not limited to personal assistance, homemaking services, Meals on Wheels, transportation, preventative health screening and advocacy.  The Service Coordinator will carry out all tasks related to the position as assigned by the Community Resource Advocate, Director of Greenbelt CARES and the City Manager’s Office.  

Bachelors Degree in social work, gerontology or other social science is preferred however the equivalent of 3 years of relevant work experience may be considered as a substitute for a college degree. Evidence of prior network ability is required as is the ability to relate well with senior citizens and disabled residents.  Experience in determining needs and arranging services for older adults is highly desired. Candidate must be a dependable, self-motivated and reliable individual with a desire to work with seniors and their caregivers. Salary:  $37,070.40/A  plus excellent benefits.
