How to Register
Enhance your connection to life, language and community through the arts while relaxing at the café. Use verbal and visual metaphors to communicate expressively about your interests, values, concerns and dreams. Receive a booklet containing the group members' work, a portrait from the instructor, and the option of participating in Thursday night open mic sessions at the café. All experience levels welcome. Students may purchase refreshments to enjoy during class.

Create beautiful and functional canvas mats using stenciled, abstract or pictorial techniques according to your taste and drawing skill. Students will create a small mat suitable for an entry or pet-dish area, while learning techniques that can be adapted to create a mat of any size. Basic materials provided; students may choose to augment.

Digital Photography
Unlock the creative potential of your digital camera! Class will emphasize composition, lighting, and effective use of equipment. Digital image manipulation is not included in the curriculum.

Share ideas while creating crafts for local charities: blankets for infants and disadvantaged children, baby clothes, hats and pillow cases for cancer patients and more. Weekend Workshop: Mug-Making BootCamp
What makes a good mug? This question will be thoroughly explored, followed by intensive practice of throwing, trimming and handle-pulling. When the weekend is over, your arms will be sore and much of your holiday shopping will be done. Participants should bring 10 lbs of clay. All skill levels welcome.

Weekend Workshop: Form and Texture with Sandi Pierantozzi and Neil Patterson
Incorporate texture in hand-built and wheel thrown pots with two nationally-recognized ceramic artists. Slab construction and wheel demonstrations with hands-on activities directed toward making unique and personal pots. Friday evening talk free to registered workshop participants. Glazing Techniques
Explore glazing techniques for hand-built, wheel-thrown or tile pieces. Understand the makeup of glazes and how they function. Conduct tests to discover surprising and beautiful combinations. Practice using oxides, stains, resists, engobes, colored slips, sprayers, and underglazes as well as low-fire and high-fire glazes. Students should have enough ceramics experience to produce bisqued pieces on their own. Ceramics Open Studio is included. Clay purchased separately.
