MINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION held
Saturday, February 28,
for the purpose of holding a work planning retreat with senior staff.
The meeting began at 9:30pm.
It was held at the Patuxent Wildlife Refuge Visitors Center

PRESENT WERE: Council members Edward V.J. Putens, Rodney M. Roberts, Alan Turnbull Thomas X. White and Mayor Judith F. Davis.

STAFF PRESENT WERE: Michael P. McLaughlin, City Manager; David E. Moran, City Clerk; Robert Manzi, City Solicitor; Bo Ferguson, Management Analyst; James Craze, Police Chief; Hank Irving, Director of Recreation; Carol Leventhal, Director of CARES; Kenny Hall, Acting Public Works Director; Jeff Williams, City Treasurer and Celia Craze, Director of Planning and Community Development.

ALSO PRESENT WERE: Victor Tervala and Monika Thompson, Institute for Governmental Service (Facilitators).

Everyone present analyzed the following four priority issues and identified specific problems and solutions.

Improve and Enhance Public Safety
Preserve and Enhance the Green Belt
Enhance Sense of Community
Improve Parks and Ballfields

The facilitators agreed to provided a document summarizing all the items discussed. The session ended at 4:00pm.
