MINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION
held Wednesday, August 26, 1998
for the purpose of discussing Council Goals.

The meeting began at 9:38 p.m. It was held in the Council Room of the Municipal Building.

PRESENT WERE: Council members Edward V.J. Putens, Rodney M. Roberts, Alan Turnbull Thomas X. White and Mayor Judith F. Davis.

STAFF PRESENT WERE: Michael P. McLaughlin, City Manager; David E. Moran, City Clerk and W. Bowman Ferguson, Management Analyst

Mr. McLaughlin noted that the process was getting closer to completion and indicated that so far he was comfortable with the workload. Council first reviewed items which could be changed to short or long term, or combined or eliminated. Council also moved some of the sub points under "Response/Solution@ to "Action Steps.@

Council gave staff direction to begin filling in their own action steps marked with an (s), and also to combine any Council redundancies and return an updated document to Council. After this it was suggested that Council hold another meeting with Department Heads.

The meeting was adjourned at 10:37 p.m.
