SPECIAL MEETING OF CITY COUNCIL
HELD MONDAY, OCTOBER 18, 1999

ROLL CALL was answered by Edward V.J. Putens, Rodney M. Roberts, Alan Turnbull, Thomas X. White and by Judith F. Davis, Mayor.

ALSO PRESENT were Michael P. McLaughlin, City Manager and David E. Moran, City Clerk.

A RESOLUTION FOR THE NEGOTIATED PURCHASE OF A 10 TON HEATING/VENTILATION/AIR CONDITIONING UNIT FROM ALLIANCE MECHANICAL SERVICES OF BELTSVILLE, MD. IN THE AMOUNT OF $11,150

Mayor Davis read the agenda comments.

Mr. Roberts asked if there was a 2 year or 90 day warranty. Mr. McLaughlin responded that staff would have to check with Alliance and indicated he would not proceed unless they granted a 2-year warranty.

Mr. White asked if heat pumps could be used instead of a rooftop unit. Mr. McLaughlin responded he was not able to answer the question, but would check with staff.

Mr. Turnbull referenced more energy efficient technology that buries heat exchangers and suggested this for the future.

Mr. Turnbull introduced the above titled Resolution for first reading and suspension of the rules. Mr. Putens seconded.

ADJOURNMENT: Mr. Putens moved to adjourn the meeting. Mr. White seconded. The motion carried 5 to 0. Mayor Davis adjourned the special meeting of October 18, 1999, at 8:27 p.m
