OF THE CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION held Wednesday, May 8, 2002, for the
purpose of reviewing the FY 2003 proposed budget for Green Ridge House.

The meeting began at 7:36 p.m. It was held in the Community Room at Green
Ridge House.
PRESENT WERE: Council members Rodney M. Roberts, Alan Turnbull, Edward
V.J. Putens, Thomas X. White and Mayor Judith F. Davis.
STAFF PRESENT WERE: Michael P. McLaughlin, City Manager, and Anne
Marie Belton, Executive Associate.
ALSO PRESENT WERE: Terry Blake, Green Ridge House Property Manager;
Salva Holloman, Green Ridge House Community Manager; Doug Erdman, President,
Community Realty; and Members of the Green Ridge House Resident Council.
Mayor Davis began the meeting by thanking the members of Green Ridge
House for coming to the meeting.
Mr. McLaughlin announced to the residents that Home Properties would
no longer be the management company for Green Ridge House and that
Community Realty would again be the management company. He then introduced
the president of Community Realty, Doug Erdman, and Lynette McGrath,
the property manager.
Accomplishments
Computers - Mr. McLaughlin informed the residents that Internet access
would soon be available on the computers in the multi-purpose room.
He also told the residents that Karen Haseley is working on a program
called Cyber Teens/Cyber Seniors. This program would have teens who
are knowledgeable with computers help seniors to learn how to use computers.
Security cameras - Having had problems in the past with the clarity
of the security camera, Mayor Davis asked if the newly installed camera
at the front door showed a clear picture. Residents stated that the
picture was not clear; you can only determine that there is someone
in front of the camera. Mayor Davis suggested that the residents work
with the management company to remedy this problem.
Resident Issues
Marian Evans, Green Ridge House resident, requested that the furniture
in the 2nd floor lounge area be replaced. She stated that it is in
very poor condition. The suggestion was made for the residents to form
a renovation committee to identify all areas they believe need attention.
Several other residents raised concerns such as screening in balconies,
carpet and stove replacement, and faulty washing machines. Council
informed the residents that these are all issues that should be brought
to the attention of the Community Manager and if not acted upon by
the management, then the City should be contacted.
The meeting ended at 8:53 p.m.
Respectfully Submitted,
Anne Marie Belton
Executive Associate
