GREENBELT COMMUNITY CENTER
15 Crescent Road
Greenbelt, MD 20770
301-397-2208
The Greenbelt Community Center was built in 1937 as the original Greenbelt Elementary School. The school also served as the "center" for the community, a place where residents would gather for dances, use the library, or attend religious functions and meetings. When a new elementary school was built in 1991, the City acquired grants and other funds from numerous sources to help refurbish this historic building to its present status as the Greenbelt Community Center.
Today the Center continues to serve as an integral and active element of the Greenbelt Community. The Greenbelt Community Center is open Monday-Saturday from 9:00am to 10:00pm and on Sundays from 9:00am-7:00pm, except major holidays when operating hours are shortened. There are many rooms within the facility to rent for alcohol-free events and meetings.
