Creative Movement is a joyful exploration of movement, music and imagination for children ages three through five years old. Young children learn best by moving and doing, so our CM classes are designed to keep our young dancers active and involved.  Our teachers focus on developing each child's creativity and confidence through dance, storytelling and rhythmic games in a fun but disciplined environment.  Classes are limited to ten children, so each young dancer gets lots of individual attention!

Pre-Dance teaches young dancers the basics of ballet, jazz and modern dance in a fun and nurturing environment.  Students will have the opportunity to explore lots of different styles of dance and enjoy moving to a wide variety music.  Pre-Dance classes help young dancers develop the discipline, confidence and coordination needed for Ballet I or Contemporary Dance I.

Ballet is one of the oldest and most popular dance forms in the world.  Ballet lessons teach aspiring young dancers the basic postures and body positions of this beautiful dance form.  In our classes, we focus on the developing each student's flexibility, strength and musicality while emphasizing the place of both creativity and self-control in the learning experience. The movements and positions that characterize the graceful precision of ballet are also the foundation of many other forms of dance such a jazz, modern and musical theater.  Students interested in contemporary dance forms like jazz and modern will also benefit from studying ballet.

Contemporary Dance classes begin with a stretching and strengthening warm-up and culminate with students learning short dances in either a jazz dance or a modern dance style to a variety of popular music from swing to current radio hits.

Jazz Dance is an umbrella term for lots of popular, American dance forms as diverse as musical theater and hip hop.  Regardless of the style, jazz dancing is usually performed to fast, rhythmic music with lots of energy and enthusiasm.  Our classes focus on teaching the basic steps of jazz dancing as seen on stage in musical theater and exploring lots of basic dance rhythms like cha-cha and swing.

Modern Dance is an umbrella term for a style of dance that uses movement as a means of self-expression.  Unlike ballet, modern dance does not have a limited movement vocabulary but instead draws on lots of steps and styles to communicate a specific idea or feeling.  Our modern dance classes begin with a stretching and strengthening warm-up and focus on developing each dancer's ability to move through space with control and enthusiasm.  These classes are designed for teens and adults who want to improve their coordination, flexibility and balance in a fun and supportive environment.
