| ADMINISTRATION: The City Manager's Office is responsible for ensuring that the City is being responsive to the needs of its customers, the citizens. This is accomplished by implementing City Council policy, responding to citizen inquiries and concerns, exercising fiduciary prudence with City monies, planning for the City's future and communicating to the public what is being done. City offices are located at 25 Crescent Road and can be reached at 301-474-8000. Administration includes: the City Manager's Office, City Clerk's Office, Finance, Legal Counsel, Human Resources and Public Information. |
| DEPARTMENT OF PLANNING AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT: The Department of Planning and Community Development is responsible for overseeing all physical development in the city. This is accomplished through a process which includes review of all development proposals, inspecting the project during construction, and ensuring the continued maintenance of buildings through enforcement of the property maintenance code. Other department responsibilities include parking enforcement, burglar alarm licensing, licensing and inspection of all rental housing and non-residential buildings, and sediment control enforcement. |
| POLICE DEPARTMENT: The Greenbelt Police Department is committed to providing the highest quality of police services, while at the same time, maintaining respect for individual rights and human dignity. The Department seeks partnership with the community in protecting public safety while achieving these goals.
The emergency number for the Greenbelt Police Department is 301-474-5454. The TDD number is 301-474-6435. In a non-emergency, the Police Department can be reached at 301-474-7200. Greenbelt is also served by the Prince George's County Police Department, Maryland State Police and the U.S. Park Police. To reach these departments in case of an emergency dial 911. The Police Department is located at 550 Crescent Road at the intersection of Kenilworth Avenue and Crescent Road. |
SOCIAL SERVICES/GREENBELT CARES: Greenbelt CARES provides individual, group and family counseling and support services to the community of Greenbelt. Programs offered by Greenbelt CARES are: family counseling, tutoring, GED courses, discussion groups, babysitting courses, discussion groups, babysitting courses and a community odd-job bank. CARES is located at 25 Crescent Road and can be reached at 301-345-6660.
The Greenbelt Assistance in Living Program provides information and support that enables seniors to remain in their homes. The program is staffed by a Community Resource Advocate.

| PUBLIC WORKS: The Public Works Department is responsible for the construction, maintenance, and preservation of the physical condition of the City. This includes: Street maintenance; refuse and special trash collection; snow removal; leaf, brush and yard waste collection; grass mowing; street, sidewalk, curb and gutter repair; road signage and traffic lane marking; fleet maintenance; beautification landscaping, tree planting and grounds maintenance; intra-city transit (Greenbelt Connection); ball field and park facilities maintenance; recreation facilities, maintenance; and oversight of recycled waste material collection. | DEPARTMENT OF RECREATION: The Greenbelt Recreation Department has created a tremendous opportunity to provide a diverse assortment of recreational opportunities for the community. Our challenge is to continue to build upon the success of the department. Collaboration is one of the best ways to build communities and families. We have begun this collaboration with the many community organizations on projects such as Greenbelt 65th Anniversary Celebration, Grad Night, Labor Day Festival and others.
