RFQ FOR RECRUITMENT SERVICES

The full Request for Qualifications (“RFQ”) may be obtained upon request from the City Manager’s Office, 25 Crescent Road, Greenbelt, MD  20770 or here after 9:00 a.m. on Friday, December 15, 2017.  Responses to this RFQ must be received in the City Manager’s Office in a sealed envelope marked “Police Chief Recruitment Services RFQ” no later than 4:30 p.m. on January 5, 2018.  The City reserves the right to reject any and all responses, in whole or in part, for any reason that the City deems to be in its best interests.  The City encourages all minority, women and handicapped owned businesses to submit a response.  For further information concerning the RFQ, contact Mary Johnson, Director of Human Resources, either by e-mail at  or by phone at 240-542-2023.

Police Patrols
Apart from the normal police patrols, the department also deploys bicycle patrols, school resources officers in our schools, public / private partnerships with businesses to share the cost of officers, and a crime prevention officer who engages businesses, homeowner associations, and others in ways to protect themselves and their possessions.

Personnel
The department employs 54 sworn officers and 15 support personnel who serve a community of approximately 22,000 residents over 6.5 square miles. Greenbelt is situated in northern Prince George's County, approximately 12 miles northeast of Washington, D.C., 26 miles southwest of Baltimore, and 22 miles west of Annapolis, the state capital.
