Greenbelt ALERT is a text based emergency communications system for Greenbelt residents. City officials will use it to send out important messages to e-mail accounts, cell phones, pagers and other wireless devices in case of a possible emergency. SWIM MEETS AT GREENBELT AQUATIC AND FITNESS CENTER...The GAFC will be hosting swim meets on July 4th and July 18th. The OUTDOOR pool will open at 1:00pm on these days. The Indoor pool will open at 8:00am; however Children’s Lessons occupy all open swim areas through 12:00 noon. Indoor Lap lanes are available at this time.
July 4th, at Buddy Attick Park, JULY FOURTH FANFARE! Celebrate Independence Day with friends and neighbors. Free kids' craft tent from 3-6pm; Greenbelt Concert Band performs at 6:15pm; Community Drum Circle from 7:30-9:00pm; Fireworks around 9:00pm. Please be sure to observe all posted parking regulations. July 5th, from 1:00-4:00pm at the Greenbelt Community Center, An Artful Afternoon, ART IN THE SHADOWS. Make shadow puppets, print photograms, enjoy a shadow puppet show at 3pm and more!

Wednesday, July 8, from 1:00-4:00pm at the Municipal Building. Greenbelt CARES, FREE BABY SITTING COURSE, targeted towards students which have completed grades 5-8. To register call 301-345-6660.
FREE SUMMER TUTORING CAMP, Wednesdays, July 8, 15, 22, and 29th from 9am-12pm at the Greenbelt Municipal Building, 25 Crescent Road. Students in grades 2-6. For registration call Greenbelt CARES at 301-345-6660.

Friday, July 24 and Saturday, July 25 at 7:00pm at the Greenbelt Community Center, PERSEUS AND THE GORGAN, presented by the staffers of Creative Kids Camp and Camp Encore. All proceeds will go to the Mary Purcell Geiger Scholarship fund which will provides scholarships for Recreation Classes throughout the year. Tickets can be obtained by calling 301-397-2208.
Greenbelt Animal Shelter: OPEN VISITATION DAYS: The Greenbelt Animal Shelter, 550-A Crescent Road is now open regularly for visitation and adoption on Wednesdays, from 4-7pm and on Saturdays from 9am-12pm. Info: 240-508-7533.
GOVERNOR'S WELLMOBILE: The WellMobile is at Springhill Lake Elementary the 2nd and 4th Monday of every month from 9am-3pm. Appointments can be made by calling
