GREENBELT POLICE DEPARTMENT
CARJACKING
On Friday, May 19th at approximately 9:10 P.M., officers responded to a report of a carjacking which occurred in the 9200 block of
Edmonston Road
. The victim advised that she had parked her vehicle in the parking lot when the suspect entered the vehicle by way of the front passenger door. The suspect pointed a handgun at the victim’s 9 month old child sitting in a car seat in the back seat of vehicle and ordered the victim to drive him around. The victim was directed to drive a short distance to the 9300 block of
Edmonston Road
, where the suspect exited the vehicle, taking the victim’s car keys, money and cell phone. The victim got out of the car, grabbed her child and fled the scene on foot. The child was not injured. The suspect then proceeded to rob two other victims in the 9300 block of
Edmonston Road
, taking their purses. The suspect then fled the area on foot. The suspect is described as a black male, 25 to 30 years of age, 5’8”, 150 pounds, with brown eyes, black hair and a medium complexion, wearing a dark colored hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.
