GREENBELT POLICE DEPARTMENT

CHIEF OF POLICE APPOINTED TO BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE FOUNDATION OF THE INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF CHIEFS OF POLICE

On February 2, 2006, Chief James R. Craze was appointed to the Board of Directors of the Foundation of the International Association of Chiefs of Police. The IACP is the largest organization of police executives and line officers in the world. Founded in 1893, the IACP, with more than 20,000 members in 101 countries is the oldest and largest association of police executives. The IACP’s mission is to identify, address and provide solutions to urgent law enforcement issues.

The IACP Foundation is a not-for profit organization with the goal of advancement of professional policing. The Board recently established a scholarship program to benefit family members of officers killed, permanently injured or disabled in the line of duty and has also created the Center for Police Leadership to assist chiefs of police in their efforts to promote leadership within their organizations.

Chief Craze has served with the Greenbelt Police Department for 35 years, 20 as Chief of Police. Craze is currently a member of the IACP Executive Board and Past President of the Maryland Chiefs of Police Association and Past President of the Police chiefs Association of Prince George’s County.
