Free facility use is available on a limited basis to officially designated Recognition Groups,
Contribution Groups, Civic Group and Homeowners Associations operating in the City of
Greenbelt. These groups are eligible for up to two free reservations per month as space
permits. Two of the following rooms are available in the building each night for free use:
Theatre Rehearsal Room, Gallery/Senior Conference Room, Senior Classroom, and
Community Meeting Room. The Greenbelt Community Center has other spaces which can
be rented for a fee.

In order to reserve space at the Community Center:
All groups must be a current Recognition Group, Contribution Group, Civic Group or
Greenbelt Homeowners Association.
All groups must complete standard facility use applications. Applications must be submitted
at least 5 calendar days prior to the date for which a free rental is requested. Groups are
subject to all standard policies and procedures regarding facility rental, with the exception of
associated fees.
Groups who need to cancel a room that has been reserved for them must cancel within 72
hours. Those groups who do not give adequate notice may lose their rental privileges for the
rest of the rental quarter. These groups will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
Free room use is granted, based on availability, for these purposes:
- Organizational meetings
- Social gatherings
- Recreational and cultural programs (examples: lectures, games, dances, plays,
concerts, readings, hands-on workshops, rehearsals. Noise restrictions apply).
ALL ACTIVITES FOR WHICH FREE ROOM USE IS PROVIDED
MUST BE OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AND FREE OF CHARGE.
Free room use is not provided for any political, religious or income-generating activity.
However, organizations are welcome to rent facilities for these purposes. Political activities
are defined as any activities intended to affect law or public policy at the local, county, state
or federal level. These activities include but are not limited to: lobbying; campaigning; and
appeals to voters. Religious activities are defined as worship practices and proselytizing
activities.
Storage space is not available for the belongings of facility renters.
