Greenbelt Skate Park
Facility Rules and Regulations

The City of Greenbelt expects persons using the Greenbelt Skate Park to behave in a mature and responsible manner and to respect the rights and dignity of others. All participants assume all risk of injury. The City of Greenbelt and its agents are not responsible for any injuries. All users must comply with posted Facility Rules and Park Rules and regulations as defined in the City of Greenbelt code. Violators are subject to municipal citation of up to $250.00. This facility was designed to be open for use during times that are most convenient to skaters. The success of this facility lies in the hands of its users. Please be respectful of the rules as well as the staff that are responsible for enforcing them. Individuals found violating the rules below should be reported to staff at the Greenbelt Youth Center.

FACILITY RULES

1. Park is open from 9:00 a.m. to sunset daily, or as otherwise posted. Facility is closed when equipment/ramp surface is wet, icy, or snow covered. Violators will be prosecuted.
2. All bicycles and/or scooters are prohibited.
3. All skaters must register with the City of Greenbelt’s, Department of Recreation and obtain a Skate Park User I.D. Card prior to using the facility. All facility users must have, in their possession, a valid Skate Park User I.D. Card while skating and produce the card to any City official upon request.
4. All skaters must wear at all times while skating an ANSI or SNELL-approved safety helmet (with chin strap secured). Kneepads, elbow pads, gloves and wrist braces, are strongly encouraged. All skaters must provide their own skating equipment.
5. An adult must accompany skaters under the age of 10, but remain outside the fence, at all times.
6. Spectators are not permitted inside the park.
7. It is recommended that skaters use only the equipment that is appropriate for their skill level.
8. Recklessness will not be tolerated. All skaters must use this facility responsibly to avoid injury to themselves or others. The use of proper skater etiquette is expected at all times.
9. Profanity or obscene language is prohibited at all times. Persons violating this rule will be removed from the park and skating privileges revoked.
10. Use of illegal drugs, alcohol, or tobacco products is prohibited.
11. Food or drink is prohibited on concrete skating surfaces. All trash must be placed in appropriate trash receptacles.
12. Use of portable radios, CD players, car stereos, or any other electronic device that produces amplified sound is prohibited at this facility. Personal music devices such as an iPod or MP3 player is permitted provided headphones are used.
13. Destroying or defacing public property is prohibited.
