New Heating Assistance Program

“Project Heat Up”

In response to projected heating cost increases the Office of Home Energy Programs, Maryland Department of Human Resources has instituted a new program to help pay heating costs for some persons whose income is above the eligibility limits for the low-income Maryland Energy Assistance Program (MEAP, which is also administered by DHR Office of Energy Programs). This specially funded program will operate from January 15-March 31, 2006; whether or not the program will be in effect in the future is unknown. Applicants will use the same application form used for the MEAP and Electric Universal Service Program is also used for Project Heat Up.
