TUTORING PROGRAM
Interested youths are matched with community volunteers who assist with academic work and help motivate the student. Both group and individual sessions are available. Tutor training workshops are conducted throughout the year. Sessions are conducted exclusively in public places such as local libraries. Contact CARES at 301-345-6660.
CARES Summer Tutoring Program for Greenbelt Residents
Greenbelt CARES will offer a summer tutoring program for Greenbelt students completing grades 2-6. The program will be held in the Municipal Building Council Room, Wednesday mornings, beginning July 8, from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Space is limited. Students participating in the program are required to fill out a registration form. Greenbelt residents have first priority. There is $15 charge for the program, to cover the cost of tutoring materials.
There will be four sessions: July 7, July 14, July 21 and July 28
The following is the schedule for instruction:
9:00 - 10:00 a.m. - English grammar skills and composition/spelling/writing
10:00 - 11:00 a.m. - English literature
11:00 - 12:00 p.m. - math
Parents or students should call CARES (301-345-6660 ext. 2016) to register for this program. There is great demand for this program and space is limited. Therefore, students must be registered in advance.
