Strong Towns President and Founder Charles Marohn, Jr. will be visiting Greenbelt as part of the Strong America Tour:
How can our towns get stronger — not weaker — when our economy changes? What can we learn from the earliest days of city building about building better places tomorrow? And what can active citizens, local officials, and ordinary people do today to make their cities more sustainable, more people-oriented, and more prosperous?
Acclaimed author and urbanism thought leader Charles L. Marohn of Strong Towns will visit Prince George's County on October 8th, 2019 to help answer these questions and to participate in a discussion about how the Strong Towns approach can help improve our towns.
At 6:30 pm, Marohn will be available to sign books and discuss the Strong Towns approach in an informal community potluck reception at Proteus Bicycles in College Park.
At 8:00 pm, Marohn will present some of the most powerful stories of his book Strong Towns: A Bottom Up Revolution to Rebuild American Prosperity, at Greenbelt's historic community center. The discussion will focus on using insights from Strong Towns book to highlight paths to community sustainability and prosperity, while preserving our uniqueness. The presentation and discussion will be in Room 201, Greenbelt Community Center, 15 Crescent Road in Greenbelt.
Both the College Park and Greenbelt events are free and open to the public, but registration is requested at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/strong-america-book-tour-prince-georges-county-maryland-tickets-73591408885
