Greenbelt City Council Election will be on Tuesday, November 5, 2019

Polls will be opened from 7am-8pm

2019 Candidates

A listing of the Council Candidates for the 2019 Election and links to Financial Reports.  There will be a Candidates Forum on Thursday, October 3 at 7:30pm at the Greenbriar Community Room, 7600 Hanover Parkway, Greenbelt, MD 20770.   A second Candidates Forum will be held on Thursday, October 24 at 7:00pm at the Greenbelt Municipal Building, 25 Crescent Road, Greenbelt, MD 20770.

Type of Government

The City of Greenbelt elects a seven-member City Council every other year. The mayor and mayor pro tem are chosen by the City Council, the members are elected at large, with the highest vote getter traditionally being selected as mayor and the second highest as mayor pro tem.

The Voter Registration Deadline for the 2019 City Election is October 7, 2019.

Greenbelt residents are reminded that to participate in the 2019 City Council election—whether as a voter, a candidate for City Council, or a signer of a petition for a candidate—you must be qualified to vote in Prince George’s County.
