Potential Gift of Artwork to Greenbelt

Painter Kathy Karlson, a long-time Artist in Residence at the Greenbelt Community Center, has proposed to create and donate a large painting to the City of Greenbelt for display in the central stairwell of the Greenbelt Municipal Building. See examples of Kathy's prior work online, and read her proposal to the Greenbelt Arts Advisory Board. The Board will be making a recommendation to City Council about this offer, taking into consideration any input received from Municipal Building staff and Greenbelt citizens. FOLFestival of Lights Juried Art and Craft Fair

Apply now to participate in Greenbelt's annual fair, featuring original, hand-made wares sold directly by local artists and artisans at the historic Greenbelt Community Center. This show is tentatively scheduled to take place on December 5 and 6. If the event cannot be held in person, Greenbelt Recreation will provide a virtual edition of the show. Vendors will be accepted on a rolling basis through September 30. In addition to professional crafters, authors, musicians, filmmakers, non-profit groups and youth crafters are also invited to apply. No fees will be due until later in the year.
